Cuckoo for Coconuts

Commissioned by Mascot Books, this lively children’s book whisks young readers away on a tropical adventure bursting with fun and laughter! Every page radiates energy, featuring vibrant characters whose personalities shine through expressive designs and bold, colourful compositions.

From crafting unique personalities for each character to building dynamic, engaging scenes, I brought the story to life using my personal vector art style. One of the key challenges was ensuring the book maintained its playful, immersive feel while staying visually cohesive throughout.

By experimenting with tropical-inspired colour palettes, exaggerated expressions, and fluid layouts, I enhanced the whimsical charm of the narrative.

Beyond illustrating the characters and settings, I also took on the creative responsibility of designing the cover, layout, and print-ready files, ensuring the final book was polished and captivating.

My proudest achievement in this project was successfully translating the excitement of the story into a visually stunning, immersive reading experience that delights both children and parents alike.
